Psychiatrist

OPA Behavioral Health is a private practice with an immediate opening for a Psychiatrist to join our team. The individual ultimately hired for this position will be responsible for evaluating patients and medication management in an outpatient mental health clinic. The Psychiatrist is also responsible for supervision of a medication management team comprised of physician assistants and/or advanced registered nurse practitioners. The Psychiatrist has the option to be placed at any of our offices: Orlando, Ocoee, Kissimmee, Lake Mary, or Lakeland. Excellent patient care and “people skills” is required for this position, as well as high emotional intelligence with the ability to interact pleasantly and adequately with patients, colleagues, and the entire OPA team.

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

OPA Behavioral Health has immediate openings for both full time and part time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with at least one (1) year of experience in the mental health field. The PMHNP will provide psychiatric evaluations, meds management, and treatment of patients at OPA in an outpatient setting within the scope of practice permitted under Florida law. The PMHNP may, within a framework of established protocols, evaluate, diagnose, initiate appropriate treatment therapies, and perform other acts of diagnosis, treatment, and meds monitoring. OPA Behavioral Health is a busy psychiatric practice treating children, adolescents, and adults from ages 3 and up. OPA offers comprehensive mental health care including counseling as well as medication management. The practice is 100% outpatient based where the care of our patients as well as their families are given the upmost consideration.

Required Skills:

One (1) year of experience in Psychiatry is preferred.

Courteous and helpful behavior towards patients, physicians, coworkers and the OPA team; professional and efficient verbal and written communications; accomplishing tasks through teamwork and initiative; and ensuring timely and thorough documentation of progress notes, psych evals, and patient paperwork.

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
