PMHNP-BC

Cynthia Coe is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has over 22 years of mental health experience working in direct patient care facilities. She started her nursing career by receiving a Nursing Program Diploma from Georgian College, Ontario Canada in 2003. Cynthia began working at a maximum-security facility in Penetanguishene, Ontario Canada where she provided pharmacotherapy, psychoeducation, pharmacological education for patients, administered medications, performed the medical screen and triage of patients, and provided initial and daily nursing assessments.

In 2010 she accepted an RN position with the Virginia Department of Corrections at a State Mental Health Institution for inmates with a broad range of mental health needs. There she developed and implemented individual treatment plans for patients to include pharmacotherapy, psychoeducation, and initial assessments.

In 2022 she completed her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree through Walden University. Cynthia joined OPA Behavioral Health on June 2023 where she has the opportunity to work with mental health patients and make a difference in their lives as they recover their mental health capacities. For fun, Cynthia enjoys traveling and spending time with my family and friends.
